5 Star YouTube Promo Tips

One of my friends from Beats N Blessings, Craig Allen, just passed this tip along to saying that he just found out that one of the ways to get our videos seen by thousands of people on YouTube is simply for as many people as possible to rate the video with 5 Stars. YouTube then seems to highlight and feature all the 5 stars for the videos.

The objective is: The more comments we get the more likely we are to be placed in the most discussed video section of YouTube and the more 5 star ratings we get the more likely it will be to be placed in the most viewed section of youtube
He also suggests that you also make comments about the video if you want more traffic. BNB videos we have posted at www.youtube.com/bnbvideo So check out Craig's vids and leave some star dust.

Other tips from Craig's information source, Project for awesome are:

  • The more comments on a video, the more views it gets. The Most-Discussed and Most-Viewed pages of YouTube are the most viewed pages outside of the front page. So as more videos hit those pages, they’ll get more and more views, and more and more charities will be promoted!
  • Comment Conversations (find a friend, and have an instant message conversation…but in YouTube comments!)
  • Transcribing the video (line by line…one comment per line)
  • Talking about charities (or spoons or kittens or democracy)
  • Asking or Answering questions. (You might ask “who is your favorite novelist and why” or you might run into a similar question, and answer it.) I find these strings particularly fascinating.
Craig tells me that he got this info from this site You can learn more also at this 2008 Project for Awesome, which BTW has nearly 200, views.

By the way if your a BNB artist you should have a YouTube channel set up where you vlog. It's a great way to connect with fans and build promotion for your music. Keith Craig Allen, Executive Director, www.BeatsNBlessings.com
